This is a great idea, and I challenge you to make it about more than feeling beautiful. Compliment yourself about anything you’re proud of, be it fitness-related, work/school-related, character trait-related, anything.
If that’s not something you can do right now, try pairing up with someone and give each other at least one genuine compliment per day. If you have difficulty accepting compliments, make it your goal not to argue against them in your head (example: She doesn’t know what she’s talking about. She’s just saying that to make me feel better.) Try to accept that others have different perspectives, and may see good qualities about you that you don’t right now. Try to appreciate that someone is thinking good things about you, even if you can’t think them yourself.
I know someone who did this when she was younger, and she said that it actually helped her a lot, and she still feels the effects now at 24 years old. It’s amazing what a little positivity can do :-)
You may spend hours in the gym, but when you get home - what do you do? Do you plop yourself in front of the tele for a few hours? Do you then tumble for three more before you go to bed? And when you wake up in the morning do you check facebook for a bit before you head…
I definitely want to try this. It’s going to be hard, but it’ll be worth it!
